The Earlier You Start the Better

Let us look at it from a financial point of view. The importance of personal and business savings cannot be overemphasis

When Microsoft was still a young company, Bill Gates said he;

“Came up with this incredibly conservative approach that I wanted to have enough money in the bank to pay a year’s worth of payroll even if we didn’t get any payments coming in”.

You can even learn from Warren Buffet who told Berkshire Hathaway shareholders in 2008 that;

“I have pledged to you; the rating agencies and myself to always run Berkshire with more than ample cash …. When forced to chose, I will not trade even a night’s sleep for the chance of extra profits”

Culled from “The Psychology of Money” by Morgan Housel

There is something common among these two and other successful people around the world, “the earlier you start the better” plus the power of focus and consistency in the face of challenges.

But remember, “The best time to start is yesterday, the next best time is today”. Never use your age and situation as an excuse, it is not too late. Believe it or not, excuses will always available.

If the goal is your focal point, you will never focus on the challenges. Nobody ever wins the prize without paying the price.

Never hurt yourself by comparing and competing with others, we may be going to the same destination with a different starting point. Life is the only game you can win without competing.

Start early, start now, keep going, and never give up until you win..
